SELECTION

1. PASTURE BASED PRODUCTION SYSTEM

We raise our cattle on a pasture based production system. This means that, in our ranches, our cattle feed on grasses and other forages made available naturally. They are free to walk and enjoy their life in the paddocks in which they will find everything they need.

The water is fresh, the grass is organic and the mineral supplements are always there to keep them healthy.

In addition to that, did you know that cattle grazing helps maintain the quality of the land by fertilizing the soil with its manure? It also preserves the open space, so the wildlife habitat of the local animals continue to exist.

Ok, we know that cattle produce methane, but, on the other hand, we also have to consider the huge area with grasses in which our animals feed on. The green area captures the carbon and can actually reduce the greenhouse emissions on beef production.

If you love beef and want to be sustainable, remember, Asiabeef's grass-fed beef is the best you'll find.

2. FREE FROM DEFORESTATION

From the beginning, sustainability has always been in our mind: we ought to produce beef in a good way. We want to leave an admirable legacy.

Asiabeef is still at an early stage of development and, therefore, we are constantly acquiring new land for raising our cattle. To be in sync with our values, we only invest in lands which are free from forests and that are not being utilized for any other agricultural crop.

The idea is to convert unproductive land into cattle farming area. This will improve soil fertility and increase carbon sequestration. Besides that, we are positively contributing to the development of these remote areas in Southeast Asia. With our investment, we improve the socioeconomic status of these rural areas and promote development.

3. RAINWATER

HARVESTING SYSTEM

In our project locations, the rainy season lasts for around 6 months a year. The monsoon rains are usually heavy and most of the rainwater is wasted. The soil cannot absorb the water quick enough, so most of the water just flow to the sea through temporary rivers.

In our ranches, we take advantage of this natural phenomenon and build water reservoirs following the land topography for optimal water collection. With this simple concept, we accumulate clean and fresh water during the rainy season for all kinds of use.

As a result, we are not dependable on groundwater and we don't damage the aquifers. Water is life.

4. ANIMAL WELFARE

AND GENETIC SELECTION

It might not seem obvious, but animal welfare and genetic selection play an important role when it comes to sustainability. Sustainability in beef production is directly related to efficiency.

In this sense, our objective is to achieve the best feed conversion ratio or feed efficiency. This means that we want the cattle to gain the maximum amount of mass for every kilogram of grass and feed the animal consumes.

In order to achieve this goal, we must ensure that the animal is healthy and stress free. The environment must be conducive to good health and normal behaviour. This is how we define animal welfare.

The second important aspect is genetic selection. With a good cattle breed and constant genetic improvement through selection, we are able to increase feed efficiency. In this regard, our cattle are able to grow faster and bigger with less feed and water. This reduces the beef production impact on the world.
